Volunteer Police Cadets Day of Action

Good afternoon everyone, 

On Friday the 10th April, Volunteer Police Cadets from Sutton, along with Safer Neighbourhood Officers, & MSc Officers took part in an two part operation in the Borough of Sutton.

The first part was a Weapon Sweep in Collingdale Recreation Ground. During which 6 Large NOS cannisters were found, alongside several vehicle license plates, some screwdrivers, other tools & a small knife which could be used to injure people.

As part of the day of action we also had two weapons voluntarily handed in, these included a small sword & double sided blade. 

The Volunteer Police Cadets, Neighbourhood & MSc Officers were then joined by the Sutton Council Trading Standards Team for the second part of the day’s action. Which involved a Test Purchase Operation, where stores were tested to see if they sell Knives or Vapes to underage people. 

Out of all the stores we visited only 1 did sell to an underage person & they have been dealt with by the Trading Standards Team.
